To all non-Danish people living here or planning to move in: I want to apologize. This is not Denmark, and I’m sorry for the impression you’ve gotten or will get. This place is FAR, FAR, FAR, FAR, FAR from Danish standards.

I’ve lived here for a year, and I honestly regret ever moving in. The rent has gone up to almost 4000 for a place that’s far from the city and feels completely unsafe.

The doors to the building don’t even lock properly, so random people walk in and hang around the hallways and common areas. One night I even found a homeless man sleeping on our shared sofa, he had burned a hole in it with his j*int and threatened me when I asked him to leave. I had to call the police.

The last 6 month, the area around the dorm has become extremely chaotic. Criminal gangs are hang around outside your apartment door and in the shared spaces all night, shouting, blasting music, and driving cars and motorbikes loudly until morning. They threatening your life try to sell you dr*gs and make threatening comments. It’s genuinely scary to live here. Even tho im a young atlethic guy who can defend myself.

The dorm itself is disgusting — the kitchen is worn down, filthy, and smells terrible. No one seems to care about cleaning or respecting others. Since kkik have rented it all out to ukranian refugees and people from bangladesh, they dont have respect for people or decent hygiene, and they’ve live up to 6 people in 1 room apartments.

Its not a kollegium for students, its basically a refugee center with people who don't go to school or speak english?

When I moved in, I thought I’d found a decent student place. I was completely wrong. It’s unsafe, depressing, overpriced, and far from everything. Avoid this place, there are much better, safer options out there.

The only negative thing is being far away from the city center. Other than that, I love it!!

Update: The experience is very personal about this area. Some kitchens are incredibly messy (there are many blocks). With whom you share your kitchen is entirely a matter of luck. Laundry is decorated recently but still sometimes you need to check the app before going to the room as there is only 4 dryers but 7 washers. Well, if you’re looking for a place to live quiet, in a peace, expect low, you don’t get bothered that much 🤷🏻‍♀️ Also, the gym is free!

Lived here for a 1 year + and its one of the most horrible experiences ive ever had.
People steal every week, and all doors are always accessible to enter the building so there will always be randoms outside your door.

Whenever something is stolen, broken or anything, the DIK personnel will not help in any way and they couldnt care less ablut complaints.

Some people will be nice, but half the people is making loud noises every night, wont respect you and will not clean after themselvse. Hallways is always filled with trash and kitchens is infesting with bugs because of mold and old stuff - and even ovens is 10+ years old of daily use and no cleaning. And the rats, oh you are going to hate the rats that you may find outside your door but 100% will see everyday outside your window!

In some rooms up to 8 people sleep/live. When telling DIK about this they say the will look into the matter (9 months ago and they still live happily in 20 square meters illegaly).

Roughly 4000dkk a month for depression and sickness of old mold and different kinds of rats as neighbours - i truly hope you find some place else.

Horrible experience!!! If you think it’s a cheaper option for temporary housing next to Copenhagen, IT IS NOT. They take almost all of your deposit when you move out. They will tell you that they give perfect conditions and they need to repaint walls, even tho when you move in first conditions are not great. So, they take your money and don’t even renovate the room. Also, the smell is strong in all buildings and kitchen looks disgusting. If I knew wouldn’t have moved in here.

Go away as fast as possible! This place leads you to depression, you will realize how beautiful is living in this city just once you approach it, and there are cheaper places much nearer to the centre.
The buildings are depressing, and so are the kitchens full of dirt and rat shit, the stoves are old and crusted with food from other people's meals.
They will ask for your rent to knock on your door but pay your deposit late, and they will keep requesting your money after you leave the place just because they are so careful that they can give you back one month of rent and then ask for it back.
Stay as far as possible people, this place sinks in dirt and strange human beings.

When we arrived to Denmark in order to study at DTU, we expected a great accommodation according to the standard of living in Denmark. What we found was a place where the kitchen was closed because of rats (in fact we saw it and we call to the DTU) , where some students had to leave their rooms because of bedbugs. Besides, there were some people who tried to sell us drugs and some guys stayed all night whistling to some of the girls that came with us. Finally we found somewhere better to live by our own, but the DTU should be ashamed after offering this place to live. They made us pay the entire month of August despite we were only living there for 4 days.

We attach some photos of the kitchen.

Architecture is really exciting, could be a very interesting study environment forming young people - only management has made the place such a life and soulless place, I can only recommend to take any other alternative to live.

First of all: if possible, I would have given this Kollegium 0 stars.
It only has two positives: rent is cheap, and you avoid being homeless when living here.
Now on to the negatives:
The interior of the housing blocks is sad and grey. Every wall is concrete and there nothing is done to dress this up. The walls inside the building blocks are incredibly thin, so if someone listens to music, has a conversation or does anything – you can hear it. There are no common rooms or places to hang out in the individual blocks, so don’t count on meeting any new friends here. People run to the shared kitchen and back, almost never spending time outside their rooms. Nothing is done to further a sense of community here, it is very antisocial.
It is also located in Albertslund, which is not a nice place to live. Yes, the Kollegium is located close to the S-train station, but the area is unsafe and after having talked to people, not many feel safe here. Have I mentioned that the administration does not disclose upon moving in that there has been a murder at the kollegium in the spring of 2021 and one in 2014? Feel free to google it.
Sure, rent is cheap, but you are really only provided with the bare minimum. The inspector is not helpful and almost seems annoyed when you need help.
For an international kollegium, they are very unaccommodating for international students. You can only use the laundry machines if you have a Danish bank account, the administrations English is not very good, and there is no empathy towards people new in the city/ country. Do not move with the expectation of meeting many new international friends, most people residing here are from Jutland, Denmark. I had the misfortune of sharing my kitchen with some one from there and they even went out of their way to show the new people in the kitchen that they/ we are not welcome.
Do not move here unless it is your last resort. I used living here as a strong motivator to quickly find better housing. Any place is better than this place.
